Bglobal reports first-time profits as smart sales surge

07.12.2010

One of Opus Energy’s partners in our smart meter program, Bglobal, has reported a debut profit after its half-year sales saw a 114% rise from £5.8m to £12.5m.

Bglobal said that it had turned a loss last year of £670,000 into a profit of £770,000 in 2010.

Tim Jackson-Smith, who joined Bglobal as chief executive in November, explained the company’s positive results:

“We are getting better at what we do and success breeds success,” he said. “We have fitted a total of 130,000 meters and we have a contract to read those meters for clients and provide them with analysis on their energy production.

“This service is growing all the time and is adding to our growth performance.”
