Boris Johnson backs smart meters

London mayor Boris Johnson is working with large commercial property owners to gather knowledge on smart metering. The consultation aims to pave the way for the technology to be introduced into more of London’s commercial buildings.

Boris Johnson commented:

“Commercial landlords are playing a vital role in helping London become a more energy-efficient city. These systems will ultimately save property owners and tenants money to recoup installation costs, but also contribute to my vision of ensuring London is the leading low-carbon capital."
