ELEXON responds to DECC smart meter consultation

ELEXON, the company that delivers the Balancing & Settlement Code (BSC) to the energy market, has compiled in-depth answers to the DECC's (Department of Energy & Climate Change) consultation on the smart-metering programme.

The consultation Prospectus, which represents the joint views of the DECC, and the Gas and Electricity Markets Authority (GEMA), sets out proposals for and asks for views on how smart metering will be delivered.

This response includes views on minimum requirements for meters and displays, data privacy and security issues, and the implementation strategy.
