Government policies could rise energy bills for businesses by 26%

The BBC have reported that if proposed government policies are implemented, to help cut emissions in the UK, gas prices could rise by a massive 26% over the next decade.

According to reports published by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) domestic bills could rise by just 1% over the same period.

Chris Huhne, the Energy Secretary delivered the first annual energy statement to Parliament and called for input from various groups into changing the way in which the UK consumes and produces energy.
