Homes see '60% electricity bill saving' after smart meter fitting

A European project designed to monitor and change the energy usage of households has produced "remarkable results" in Birmingham.

Over 12 weeks, the 49 homes taking part in the trial saved over 10 tonnes of CO2, with some households saving around £35 per month in electricity costs.
