Predictions for the Smart Grid next year

Chris King, the Chief Regulatory Officer of California-based smart grid company eMeter, has compiled a list of 10 predictions for the Smart Grid in 2012. Amongst them include:

• Smart meter adoption will grow significantly in South America and Eastern Europe, in particular;
• The potential to prepay for power; and
• An increased level of automation as Smart Grid 2.0 becomes a reality.
