29.11.11

At today’s Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC), the EU and the US announced that they would develop joint approached to a number of new economic initiatives.

Amongst the plans, a "letter of intent" was signed announcing the establishment of two electric vehicle/smart grid interoperability centres, based in the US (Argonne National Laboratories) and Italy (European Commission's Joint Research Centre facilities in Ispra). The aim of these centres will be to promote a joint approach for the testing of electric vehicle and smart grid equipment, with a view to the development of global standards.
