Smart-grid analytics to be $4bn industry

US news: A report released today by Pike Research predicts that the US smart-grid data analytics services market will generate $4.2 billion in annual revenue by 2015.

The report said:

"[By] utilizing smart-grid data analytics tools and related services, utilities will be able to gain better insights into their customers' energy consumption behavior to serve them more effectively, manage billing issues, communicate about outages, and to collaborate with them to foster energy conservation and reduce peak demand,"

The growth of the smart meter market internationally will see a similar rise across the globe, with large companies all over Europe and America increasing their smart meter uptake.
