Utility Week get views on the smart metering rollout

Utility Week ask three key stakeholders of the smart metering rollout their views on the implementation plans.
  •  Energy Networks Association (ENA) – the ENA is calling for smart meter technology to be seen as the fundamental part of a bigger picture. 
  • Energy Retail Association (ENR) – ENR says to Utility Week that ‘the rollout of smart meters to every home by 2020 is an important step forward in the journey to deliver real benefits to consumers and to society.’
  • Ofgem – Ofgem are jointly managing the rollout with the Department of Energy and Climate Change and as a priority, are putting consumers at the heart of the rollout of smart meters.
