As a Northampton based business Opus Energy is committed to providing support for local charitable organisations. Honouring this commitment, Opus Energy organised a Christmas raffle in aid of the Northampton NSPCC. Local businesses, Northampton Town Football Club and the Northampton Saints showed their support by bountifully donating prizes, including: England v Italy rugby tickets, a golf package for the Collingtree Golf Club and a luxury spa day at Whittlebury Hall. Raffle tickets were purchased by Opus Energy’s employees and customers and raised a tremendous £2,000.
The money raised will be going to a local Northampton NSPCC ‘Child and Parent Centre’. The centre is a community resource for families, coordinated by a skilled and highly trained staff group. The staff group are committed to helping parents/carers develop their parenting skills and knowledge to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children’s development. The centre offers free-of-charge workshops, an after school club and group work. Topics include: parenting skills, assertiveness for women and child development awareness.
The NSPCC’s aim is to see a society where all children are loved, valued and able to fulfill their potential. Their aim is to mobilise everyone to take action to end child cruelty. To give children the help, support and environment they need to stay safe from cruelty and to find ways of working with communities to keep children safe from cruelty.
