Daniel Keatings visits Opus Energys competition winner, at her gymnastics club.

A training session Zoe will never forget.

On Tuesday 1st June, Olympic training gymnast, Daniel Keatings, visited Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club to meet the young gymnast Zoe Parker.

Eight year old Zoe won a competition hosted by Opus Energy, winning tickets to the European Gymnastic Championships and a chance to train with Daniel at her club.

Unfortunately due to an injury Daniel suffered in a recent training session he was unable to partake in any routines with Zoe.

But the training session did include a question and answer session where the club’s gymnasts were able to take pictures, and get autographs from European Pommel Champion.

Zoe also had the opportunity to show Daniel some of her gymnastic routines and ask advice and questions on a one-to-one basis.

Competition winner, Zoe, said;

"I had a really great time today and at the Europeans. Thank you."

Daniel stayed at the club for a couple of hours in the morning and although hampered by his injury made every effort to help the young gymnasts with their training.

“I spent the morning chatting and giving advice to Zoe and her club mates, which I hope will be useful in their gymnastics careers,” said Daniel.

He continued, “The club is really well run by head coach Marie and I was very impressed with the facilities and heritage at the club. Kettering gymnastics club have already produced some very high level gymnasts and I am sure the current crop of gymnasts will be following in their footsteps.”

Senior Coach, Marie Mitchell said;

“Daniel gave Zoe plenty of advice and a training session she will never forget!

“Thank you to Daniel and Opus Energy for the opportunity they gave Zoe and Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club.”
